Daniel 9 in Every Language דָּנִיֵּאל ט׳ · מָשִׁיחַ נָגִיד

The proof it is pre-Christ · and what it said in each tongue, with dates found
⚡ In one breath

Daniel 9 — the chapter that counts the years to "Messiah the Prince" and says He would be "cut off" — is dated before Christ by the Dead Sea Scrolls, radiocarbon, and the Greek Septuagint, and it survives in a dozen languages across three continents. Peoples who never met copied the same chapter: that agreement means they were all copying one ancient source.

🗣️What Daniel 9 said — language by language

The crux lines: 9:25 "until Messiah the Prince," 9:26 "Messiah cut off." Real text where it could be sourced; honest notes where it couldn't.
Hebrew / AramaicMasoretic — the originalOriginal
Dan 9:25 — until Messiah the Prince
עַד־מָשִׁיחַ נָגִיד
ʿad-māšîaḥ nāgîd
"…until an anointed one, a prince (Messiah the Prince)."
Dan 9:26 — Messiah cut off
יִכָּרֵת מָשִׁיחַ וְאֵין לוֹ
yikkārēt māšîaḥ wə-ʾên lô
"…an anointed one shall be cut off, and have nothing."
Dan 9:17 — the line physically on the Dead Sea fragment
וְהָאֵר פָּנֶיךָ עַל־מִקְדָּשְׁךָ הַשָּׁמֵם
"…cause your face to shine upon your desolate sanctuary." — the actual words preserved in 4QDanᵉ.
Translated: original · Earliest MS: 4QDanᵉ (9:12–17), found 1952, Qumran; full text in the Leningrad Codex, 1008 CE

Dan 9:25
ἕως χριστοῦ ἡγουμένου
heōs christou hēgoumenou
"…until an anointed leader (Christ the ruler)." — closely maps the Hebrew mashiach nagid.
Dan 9:26
ἐξολεθρευθήσεται χρῖσμα
exolethreuthēsetai chrisma
"the anointing will be utterly destroyed…" — note: the Greek renders it as the abstract "anointing," not a person (see the honest note below).
Translated: ~2nd c. CE · Earliest MS: Codex Vaticanus (~325–350 CE), Sinaiticus (4th c.), Alexandrinus (5th c.)

Dan 9:26
ἀποσταθήσεται χρῖσμα καὶ οὐκ ἔσται
apostathēsetai chrisma kai ouk estai
"the anointing will be removed, and will not be…" — same "anointing" abstraction, a different verb than Theodotion.
Translated: 2nd–1st c. BCE · Earliest MS: Papyrus 967 (~200 CE, Egypt) — the only pre-Hexaplaric Old-Greek Daniel, standardly held to carry 9:24–27
Latin — VulgateJerome, translated from the HebrewIndependent
Dan 9:25
usque ad Christum ducem
"…unto Christ the leader."
Dan 9:26
occidetur Christus
"…Christ shall be slain." — a person, matching the Hebrew, because Jerome worked from the Hebrew, not the Greek.
Translated: ~392 CE, Bethlehem · Earliest complete MS: Codex Amiatinus, ~700 CE
Syriac — Peshittatranslated from the HebrewIndependent*
Dan 9:26 (script not sourced — reading only)
…mshiḥā … (the Messiah / anointed one is killed)
The Peshitta names mshiḥā ("the anointed one / Messiah") who is cut off / killed — a person, agreeing with the Hebrew and the Vulgate, against the Greek "anointing."
Translated: ~2nd c. CE, Edessa · Earliest complete MS: Codex Ambrosianus, 6th–7th c. · *the Syro-Hexapla (617 CE) is a separate Syriac form made from the Greek

These descend from the Greek, so they carry its "anointing" reading — showing how far the same chapter spread, not separate sources.

The honest split — and why it still points to Jesus On Daniel 9:26 the versions divide by their parent: the Hebrew-based line (Masoretic, the Peshitta, and Jerome's Vulgate) reads a person — "the Messiah/Christ is cut off" — while the Greek line and its daughters abstractify it to "the anointing is destroyed." Both are ancient and pre-Christian; the personal, Messianic reading is the Hebrew's own, carried by the oldest Hebrew (the Dead Sea Scrolls) and every Hebrew-based version. So the strongest, most defensible statement is: the original Hebrew says a Messiah is cut off, and the Greek merely rendered the noun abstractly — not that "every language reads 'Messiah the Prince' identically."
